I have a network and I want there to be on my network segment a 10/100/1000. Basically I want my mac to talk to me SAN at 1Gbps. If the remaining portion of my network at 10/100 will it affect and drop down my speed.

    Here is a diagram[IMG]

the more devices accessing the net the same time the slower the speed is.

Well I mean, If everything is connected and the printer is off as usual. The only way I could see the 1Gbps not at full speed (Imac talking to the NAS) is the router might be talking to the Imac, just basic network chatter.

    Any thoughts?
