Hi I've noticed my pc gets really slow at times it just freezes most of the time its catastrophically slow...... and this happened after I had installed a realtek network card when the card is removed however the performance comes back to its normal state and its all ok, runs fast, but the moment you put it back in the computer goes slow again and sometimes you cant even right click and hit the refresh button on the desktop its SOOOOOOO slow. The internet though works, it might be a little slow sometimes, but its the speed of the pc itself that just bugs me any ideas? Thanks in advance PS: I'm referring to the sped of the computer not he internet!

according to the PDF "back panel connectors" it shows an onboard LAN port beside the bottom two USB ports but mine doesn't have it
just to let you know I wont mind any soldering or improvising just as long as it works and wont have any damage
yes I tried a different slot and it worked fast/normal for a few days and went back to making it slow, driver is from realtek
onboard sound or pci soundcard as maybe conflict with netcard. check in bios to see that the onboard netcard(if in the bios) is disabled.
I dont have an onboard network card there's no port on the mother board.... thats why I had to install a network "card" I'm not too sure how to do the bios thing... do you mean pressing F2 at boot up?
Your problem is the kind of card; those realtek chips are garbage when the board is designed with them built in, and they are downright useless when on a PCI card. Worse, they appear to be "hardware" devices when they are mostly software, meaning that they are slower and also that they slow down the rest of the PC. ...Get a good card and it is a whole world of difference. All of a sudden all those little lags that you always thought were the fault of the cable company disappear. Yikes! I was hoping for it to be a software problem or something.... the guy who sold it told me they were all tested is there anything I can do? I don't mind improvising/soldering something if it works. What about the bios thing? Any settings that can be changed that might help in anyway? Thanks
