hi all, i purchased another HD (my other was nearly full and running very slow). i formatted new drive, then used a programme UBCD4WIN to make a boot disc and clone my old drive. i bought double size of old drive. i used the programme and cloned drive.went into BIOS to change my boot drive, but it booted with old drive. so i disconnected old drive rebooted and got message boot from a compatable device or a boot cd. i looked at my new drive and everything was on it from old drive.. so do i have to change drive letter so windows boots from C: my new drive is E:

could have got the clone software from the hd manufacturer for free as that is what i do all the time when reloading a customer's pc without losing their data. i use my hd to load windows on, load all the software including the clone program, update the windows & antivirus\spyware programs. renable their hd as slave to pull their data onto my hd then clone my hd onto theirs & pull my hd out of the pc. no problem at all.
