I have a Thinkpad T60, and it will not power on. It doesn't even realize that it is plugged in,( the LED is not on when the power adapter is in.) And, it will not turn on with either the battery or the power adapter.

I used it last night, and I did not have it plugged in, nor did I spill anything on it, or drop it. So why might this be?

    Faulty battery board perhaps.

I'd use a multimeter to test that the charger is working correctly before tyring anything.

It could well be a faulty charger, but I'm assuming the laptop battery wasn't completely dead when he tried to use it, and even if it was, it should flash the power light red rather than do nothing, unless it has been left so long the battery has completely discharged (unlikely since he says he was using it yesterday)

The laptop battery was not dead, I know that for a fact. I was charging it that night before I went to bed.
