My PC won't turn on. What is it?

I thought it was the power supply, but I put a new one in and still nothing.

I thought it was the video card, but I put a new one in and still nothing.

The motherboard does have a green light.

Could it be the motherboard or CPU or CPU fan????

any domed or leaking capacitors on the motherboard? try clearing the cmos as have found that to work sometimes to kickstart a stubborn system. reseat all ram, cards & cables to motherboard & drives. disconnect all cables to drives.

I will try cleaning the board. I have already disconnected the hard drives and pulled out the existing memory.

I just had one of those giggly moments where you read something too fast and your brain registers something close but not exactly correct. My first scan read "try cleaning the cmos" and I suddenly had this image of rubbing the chip with an alcohol swab.

I immediately went into the kitchen and got another cup of coffee. :)
