Hello! I just got Comcast Cable internet. We have three computers in our household and we can only get one computer to connect through our Linksys router. The computer was prompted to set up a network and sign up for e-mail and all that. Neither our laptop or other desktop were prompted. When we plug into the router, it says we have limited or no connectivity on a local only connection and any lights near the ethernet ports are orange.

We also have a wireless router from netgear, when plugged in it's light also turns yellow.

Any suggestions or solutions...??? Thank you for your time and assistance. ^_^

    Is the Linksys router new?

Did you have existing Internet service that you used it with?

Unless you paid Comcast to set up your router, they will only set up the first PC to verify that it's working.

You will probably need to go through the router setup and/or the setup of the two remaining PCs to match the settings of the first PC.

There's a lot of information missing here, you are essentially at "square one". You may want to consider calling Comcast for help in setting up the other PCs.

Your post suggest you are trying to connect via wired connection to router, if so.

Assuming that you have connected the NTL modem to the line in connection the wireless router with an ethernet cable, you have an ethernet cable from one of the router ports connected to one of the PCs network card.

If router has DHCP option, first thing to check is that DHCP is enabled in Linksy router (usually located in the set up page). To check this, open up IE and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.

Then check computer\s are set to obtaind IP address automatically. (maybe work on just one comp first)

When both of these are done\checked, open a command prompt and type ipconfig and check what IP address you have displayed.

EDIT: reboot comp and router before doing ipconfig
