I have a 8 month old Dell laptop, the original power cords wire has a short. I purchased a new on and when pluged in the laptop runs fine, but it won't charge the batteries?
as should be still under warranty then send battery in for warranty replacement. also possible the short in the original cord might have damaged the charging circuit in laptop which means laptop sent in for warranty replacement.
