im wondering does the power jack for the sony vaios are suitable for all models . have a sony vaio pcg 7154m and the power jack is broke can anyone tell me if other models carry the same power jack size

jack in the laptop or the power adapter connector? on my viao laptop that i got from a customer who was told the motherboard was dead, it was the jack that was broken inside. opened up the laptop to find the jack was connected to the motherboard by a cable. replaced the jack with a standard type jack & the laptop powered up.
I just replaced one of these today, It cost me £3 for the dc jack, pretty easy to take the laptop apart. just take out all the bottom screws,and lift base off, this will let you see the jack, To buy the complete jack with wiring harness off fleabay is about £8, to buy the jack without wires" solder it yerself, its easy" £3. While you have the base off, good idea to clean heatsink and fan. hope this helps.
