Ok so I have started having a problem while playing WoW or other games. I used to have a HD 4850 and used to get max fps in WoW. It then began dropping and staying around 40 FPS. For this I upgraded to a HD 6850 to get better performance. I am still getting the same FPS. Both cards are doing the same thing in multiple games which leaves me to conclude that it might be the power supply not giving out enough power for my computer? The power supply I currently have is PC Power and Cooling S75CF 750W EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply If more information is needed please let me know. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. i think that you may have selected a frame rate limiter in the game. v-sync? arbitrary limit? try another game that is installed and check the fps of that. it sounds like you have plenty of power and i doubt your weak link is the psu. i think more often a system would just shut off if there wasnt enough juice, but dont quote me on that.
Nah, nothing like that is set. I have even set the game to defaults and get the same thing. Could my monitor do it? When I am on the 24 inch acer I get those FPS. If I have it On my 40 inch sony Bravia I get max FPS. Same video card but with the desktop extended for the second display to be the 40 inch.
id say check your catalyst cc for the ati card. in the gaming settings, look for the wait for vertical refresh entry and see what it says. i only run one monitor, but id wager dollars to donuts its something in catalyst. check the displays section and see if theres any difference there. good luck
Even with out it being extended I get same FPS on the24inch. Also cc. Does not work since the new windows update. It is all over the ago website forums
ehh, i dont see any recent issues on google with cc not working. 10.2 is out i can tell you that. try to remove the monitor profile and rebuild it, unless youve super tweaked the color arrangement or something.
If you look on the AMD forums there is a few people complaining about it. What monitor profile? As I said CCC does not start, how am I going to have a profile? I have un-installed it completely using windows removers and such. I cannot do anything.
sorry guy, i am out of ideas. i run win7 and cc works, so thats why i said what i did. i was thinking you were running old software, but maybe im wrong. write a support ticket to amd abt your catalyst, or use last known working catalyst and proceed from there. EDIT: also try to run barebones windows - without extraneous programs - maybe there is some error logs that will say why its not running.
