So, I recently upgraded my Radeon 2600XT to a HIS 4670. I'm totally baffled because now I get very distinct distortions in my games. For instance any place where there are shadows turn into big black spikes.

Now, I read that people using an older Via chipset will have problems with the new 4000 series, so I went to update my BIOS for my ASROCK 775Dual-VSTA motherboard, but to no sucess. My display drivers are the most recent ATI drivers

I am completely stumped there is a lack of info about this problem and any help would be greatly appreciated

If you're using a very old motherboard, you shouldn't really be using a modern graphics card. Your best bet is to use an older one like the HD2600XT until you can afford a more modern motherboard.
