Just bought a Video card (Asus AH3450 ATI Radeon HD3450 AGP Memory Size 512 MB DDR2) for older system(old vid card ati radeon 9200 64mb memory). it works but not too good .i dont think memory on vid card is being read. I know when i upgraded my memory awhile back i had to buy DDR .so would that be the same for vid card in that it would have to be DDR if u need more info let me know thanks

if video memory is not being read then you'll not see anything so that is not the problem as you do see something. have you loaded the proper & maybe the latest driver for it? what does dxdiag say when run from the run command line?

dxdiag reads memory says its 512mb advance settings in adapter tab reads also. i knew that already but thought it was reading the bios off video card.when playing movie looks fine but as soon as there is alot of movemrnt in movie it becomes choppy also 3d visuals in winamp ok till i put it in full screen then starts to become choppy . never had that problem with old ati 9200 64md.i wanted to make sure that DDR2 ON VID CARD IS COMPATIBLE WITH MY MOTHERBOARD OR READABLE BEFORE I START ASKING whats the problem . did update my chip set think i updated motherboard?,updated bios and fresh reinstall of windows xp pro. alot of people had trouble with install this vid card supposably

which agp version is your slot as in 1, 2 or 3? i'm certain the card is agp3. which video driver are you using, microsoft, asus or ati? which version of the intel inf for motherboard did you use?
#5 13 Aug 2009 @ 2:02
agp is 3.0 video driver im using is asus it came with card.intel that i installed was intel_inf_9001008_office(not sure if loaded now might have loaded default one) . where can i find the itnell inf ur looking for? have everest and Sisoftware sandra lite programs installed if that helps. also forgot to mention when running tech power up GPU-Z program the memory type: ddr2 memory size: 0. so this program not reading mem. side note when i first instaled 2 weeks ago after rest it kept freezing at bios start up at saying checking NVRAM . after multiple turning on and off finally wouid say checking NVRAM ok than loaded up normal. doesnt do that any more though since i changed the power source going to vid card

you might have latest intel inf as you have ver 9. can you try that card in another system to see what happens?
