Hi, recently I've been playing AC2, and the screen froze, and after checking my memory and such, I gave my card to a friend who told me that he too gets those weird lines.

So I guess I am gonna need a new card.

    Specs:
    E6750 @2.66
    2GB DDR2 800Mhz
    500W Corsair PSU
    500GB SataII

and broken eVGA 8800GTS 320mb Superclocked.

2 of my friends have eVGA and their GPU's burned out within a year, so I am guess I will avoid eVGA for now.

I am on 500W limit and I use Asus P5K vanilla.

I was initially thinking about 9800GT, which performs better than 8800GTS and costs, like $100, which is much less than $330 that I paid for GTS (sad :( )

But then I started looking at ATI's, like HD 4770 and HD 4850...

Any suggestions for a budget around $100? Thanks alot, I really appreciate it.

I would go with a 5770 if you could afford it...it is about twice as fast as a 9800GTX, while running on the same hardware. Otherwise, I would either get a 9800GT and a big cooler for overclocking, or I would just get a 9800GTX.

Hi, I think I decided to go with

XFX 4850 1GB... opened design one (with HDMI)

Yeah, the 5770 is kinda expensive, cause I am already playing around $140 for 4850 for shipping charges and such.

I don't think I will be able to overclock with my 500W PSU.

    Thanks for the reply though.

The 5770 is only $134 shipped.

If it is a real 500W power supply from a good brand like corsair, then you should be able to OC with it.

    What? That cheap? Where?

Cause on newegg, it's usually $10 shipping and some $20 additional fee for the taxes and such. I'd like to see what you're talking about though.

I have Corsair 500W PSU, I assume it's pretty good.

Hey, yeah thanks. I was actually at a canadian site and that price is through the roof there, and the brand isn't very well known either. I will get the XFX 4850 cause it has the lifetime warranty, and I will prolly try baking my 8800GTS...
