tft screen red line third of way across?

Hi all,
hope I've put this in the right catergory?????
My p.c. screen has develpoed a red line vertically? It is about 20mm wide. It is not there when I start up but gets worse the longer I am on the P.C. It is not permanant if I open a new window it seems to be behind the window if you get my drift!It is not a laptop!
Any suggestions or fixes greatly appreciated!

lcd or crt screen? can you try another monitor to see if monitor issue or videocard problem?

Ye thanks for that, I borrowed a screen from work & no red line! Priced a new one £80.00.
