    Hello all,

Ok this is the situation; we are college students that live in a very big house that has been turned into flats, the guy on the ground floor has broadband (with a wireless router) and we all link to it and share the internet connection, how ever my iphone and psp wont pick up the signal as they do not have a far range......

i use a wireless reciever on my pc to get the ground floors internet because my pc does not have built in wireless...i do also have a spare wireless reciever dongle thing.

please could someone help me turn my pc into a wireless router so i can pick up the internet off my pc that is picking internet up off the guy downstaires.

    Thanks guys

The easy solution is have every pitch in and buy a long range wireless router for the guy downstairs. Preferable a linksys dual N band with the higher frequency range. The other option is you can buy a WiFi repeater for your PC for about $50. Meraki Mini – Cheap WiFi Repeater
Some routers have been hack to act as repeater boxes. But I don't have any details on how or which brands that will work on.
