So I have this 320gb Western digital hard drive. It used to work beautifully. Now I plug it in and spins up and even blinks to show its thinking. However no matter what usb slot or computer I plug it into, It doesnt show up. Then it freezes the my computer window until I unplug it. Which then flashes a quick icon for a drive and dissapears. Ive tried to restart my computer with it plugged in and it just halts the process until I unplug it. Ive even tried to access it through IE. I have alot of info, movies, and irreplaceable pictures that i would like to retrieve. If it werent for them, I'd just scrap the thing. Any one have any suggestions?

Sounds like a dead cable or a dead enclosure. If you have another cable, give it a try. If that does not work, you can open up the enclosure, remove the drive, and install it internally into the PC.
