Upgrade the cpu on a Dell Optiplex gx280 (minitower)

    Since I want 64-bit support on my dell optiplex gx280 desktop (gx280DT), I was thinking about upgrading the stock LGA775 Pentium 4 530 processor with a LGA775 Core 2 duo E7500, which uses less power and has better performance.

    Would this work? It's the same processor type (LGA775) and the (HUGE) stock heatsink will most likely cool it fine. And is this a good deal for it:

    Sorry to inform you, but your computers motherboard only supports pentium 4 processors.

    And BTW you can get a 2.5 Ghz Core 2 Quad for the same price
