I have a Sony vaio laptop from around 2005. It is so freaking slow it is driving me nuts. Do you think this is too old to mess with or can I just get some upgraded RAM. Right now it has 524mb or something like that.

I have also done a drive format and reinstalled windows fresh. It is still very slow.

    Vgn FS850P/W

I was running the os it came with (xp) but I just installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and it seems a bit faster. I still need it much faster though.
