you need to re-install the chipset or motherboard drivers. The manufacture website should have them if there not too old.

I was thinking that DDP but if it is a chipset or motherboard driver problem the card still won't work.

the card will probably work as most likely it uses different chipset then that of laptop. remember it can be an actual hardware issue as in blown usb fuse or circuitry as seen that & fixed on regular motherboards.

neo, what does it show in device manager for usb? is there any exclamation marks in device manager? what does it when a usb device is connected?

so tried yesterday and today noting it would not work at all.

so went out and got a 4 usb slot hub. plugged it in and threw that it work ? what the hell windows is unreal like.

after installing xubuntu linux on the laptop and its running great thanks so much lads.

I am gettin use't to linux and learning what versions work with different systems and which suit and which dont suit.

Its a learning experience but the whole time learn linux and helped me and shown me the way on how to work with there system.

Have to say Im so glad Ive made the switch to linux last month and Ive been spreading the word ever since and giving people the discs and people are giving good feedback and are loving linux and have left windows in the dust.

Hail Linux Forever sail we use your system

linux mint mate its the most multi media version of linux and runs incredible you can use if from the cd for as long as you want and if you like how it runs you can install it.

after you install linux you can install a program called virtual box and you can put windows on it and dual boot them.
