which is the more reliable hard drive between the Seagate Expansions 1TB or the Hitachi LS-1000-EMEA.

seagate definitely the better brand. I have 2 1tb seagates and they are excellent. Also my mediapc has several 750gb seagates running 24/7 for almost 3 years with no failures. Seagate is probably better than western digital and WD is also very good.

Hitachi and IBM use to be close collabrators and The IBM drives I would buy would fail at the 1 year mark, never bought anymore to figure if they ever fix there problems.
