wrong ram?

    hi everyone, just need some advise here,
    iv got 2 sticks of ram in my pc 1 1gb & 1 256mb
    the 1gb is 3200 & the 256mb is 2700 both ddr
    i check my motherboard specs on some website & it says that my motherboard supports ddr2100. is it a problem to have different rams in ur pc?
    because when im in internet explorer it seems very slow when i scroll up or down
    thanks for any help given

    A RAM mismatch is OK as long as the slowest RAM is at or faster than the MOBO/CPU requirements.

    However, you cannot use dual channel if the size and speed are not identically matched.

    The system will slow down to the slowesr RAM speed.

    Your symptom description could be many other things, RAM speed would be very, very low on the list.

    Other more common things would be:

    1)Slow video card
    2)Other tasks chewing up CPU/Video cycles
    3)Underpowered CPU
    4)Poor performing internet connection
