So I've had swap magic for a while now, and just found an old ps2 game I want to play. Now i know that i can burn it alright, but knowing that it is a CD-R i'm confused as to how to boot this with swap magic. The swap magic set I have [(v3.6 (DVD) & v3.8 (Coder)] only came with the disc to boot DVD's and i've seen videos online that say that there's one for booting DVD's and one for booting CD's. I'm just wondering if there is a way for me to still boot up CD-R games, or do I have to get the older set of swap magic discs...Any and all help appreciated.
You could boot the CD using Cogswap ( you can download it at sksapps.com)
How to use Cogswap
-boot up Cogswap
-place a PS2 disc in the tray
-wait til it displays the disc type
-press O button for CD or X button for DVD -wait til it says "cogswap"
-then use a slide card (fat ps2) or sensor mod (Slim ps2) to swap out the game disc for your backup disc.
-press X to play the disc.
Then find the SM CD ELF
To use it with fmcb 1.8 - you need to have an Original PS2 CD in tray, launch SM 3.6 or SM 3.3 CD ELF
Swap game using fliptop or slide tools
Launch game.
ah, using fmcb worked great smokyrain! Now I can play CDps2 games now! Thanks for the info on cogswap and fmcb. I'll keep the info on cogswap handy if I ever want to try it that way xD. Again, thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
