I recently purchased a Plug and Play PS2 Modchip - Memor32 Alternative (8gig)to back up my sons ps2 games and I am having no luck getting it work. The instructions on the web site are as follows
* Step 1: Make a backup ISO of the game you want to burn
* Step 2: Patch the game with ESR patcher. Takes 2 seconds. Download here
* Step 3: Burn the ISO onto a DVD
* Step 4: With the Memor32 alternative Device in your memory card slot, put in your game, and turn on your PS2.
* Step 5: A little menu will pop up with the option "launch CDVD". Press "X" on your controller. Thats it!

I have followed all the steps and when I insert my copied game the pop up menu with the option"launch cd/dvd" comes up but when I press "X" on my controller nothing happens.
I have playstation 2 SCPH- 75002 (pal)
I have been using DVD Decrypter to read iso and backup to hard drive. Then I have been patching saved file with ESR Patcher and burning saved file with DVD Decrypter (burning on lowest speed)
Nothing seems to work. Any help is greatly appreciated

I don't know why they put that ESR.ELF in the package.

I prefer to use the ESR r9b dvdv direct.elf - link
It is easy to use uLe to change to that elf file. Just rename the ESR r9b dvdv direct.elf to ESR.ELF, then using uLe, copy it from a usb device to the BOOT Folder on your memory card.

What speed did you burn it at. Too slow a burn is as bad as too fast a burn.

Uusually 4x is great for PS2 disks.

also What brand of media did you burn it too.

My consoles: Dreamcast aug/99>PS2 V7-Seagate 400gb hdd-Maxtor 300gb hdd,PS2 V14 FMCB 1.8 - Memor32 >DS-Lite-G6DS Real 16GB-R4DS Ultra 8gb SDHC>Gamecube-Original>Wii-Wiikey 2>PSP PHAT CFW 5.00 M33-6>DSi (Kingdom Hearts Edition)-EZ Flash Vi - M3i Zero Sakura
