Disc Read Error for burned PS2 games

Hi guys,

i have a problem as stated in the title above. I have used couple of discs but they always give me disc read error. After much research, i decided that i will buy a sony DVD-R tmr, as i used a -RW but failed. Nonetheless, i felt the system should not read every single disc i tried as error, so i suspect its smth wrong with my system.

I am 100% sure my image has no problems. SO i would like to know if its the problem with the ps2 or the media. My ps2 is the fat version, SCPH-30004. As for the modchip, i am not very sure what it is because this ps2 was bought 2nd-hand and no information was given.

Tried with Sony DVD-R today and it failed again. Speed was maintained at not more than 4x. seriously its weird. The ps2 could ply pir**ed games but could not read burned dvds.

Will try to locate and buy verbatim dvd-r. thanks
