Well heres the deal. I have a SCPH 30001-R modded with a hard mod mod chip.
I have tried various methods of burning backups, but it never seems to work.
I have tried
Staples DVD+R@ 16x : Black screen
Staples DVD+R@ 4x: Loads, then black screens
Verbatim CD-r@ 48x: Works fine
Verbatim DVD+R@ 20x: Disk Read error
Verbatim DVD+R@ 4x : Disk read error
Verbatim DVD+R set booktype to DVDROM @ 4x: STILL disk read error

I'm getting desperate. What do I do?

get a new laser. or better, get a IDE HDD, the network adapter, and hdloader.

Thats not the problem... I can play legit games fine, just not burnt ones.

Real simple
1-imgburn-create iso of game
2-Verbatim DVD+R book typed to DVD-R
3-Imgburn-burn image to DVD
4-Play game

If that doesn't work your chip is crap
