PS2 won't read DVD+R DL discs

I burned MGS2 Substance to a Memorex DVD+R DL with Nero, no problem there. When I swap the disc, my PS2 makes a grinding noise like the disc is too big or something. But it's not, or at least I can't tell the difference.

It's a SCPH-39001 model, if that makes a difference. I'd appreciate any help with this, thanks.

Most swap methods DON'T boot DVD-R DL/DVD+R DL
Post more info for better help.
