I'm trying to back up a PS1 ISO I copied onto my computer (the disc was getting scratched), but it's in .bin format which Nero can't seem to read. When I try writing it to a CD it says "unexpected file format". I've seen other people back up their PS1 games before using Nero, but does it need to be in ISO format or something? If so, how can I convert it? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Try using imgburn. It is free (google it).
I use it for all of my backups... works great and handles all known cd/dvd/bluray image formats that I have tossed at it.

yeah, but alcohol 120% isn't free last time I checked (the 100% I think is, but is rather limited)... imgburn is completely free... and easy to do a disc backup that is (from my exp) 100% compatible with all backup playing methods...

no.. imgburn will not make working ps1 copies.. clone-cd or alcohol120% unless you know how to sector edit raw images dumped with dd.

really? I used it for all my original ps1 backups (mind you I had a modchip) and had no difficulty. Now I run them through my PC and also have not had an issue using imgburn... Why won't imgburn work with backups? He already has the .bin on his PC, so using imgburn to burn the .bin file WILL work fine... from my understanding...
