TV/DVD "No Sync" will not play or eject disc Please Help!

Hi all.
I have a Tedelex TE19B02 TV/DVD player.
I was watching a DVD and pressed "Disc Menu" to return to the menu and select the next episode. The screen went black then displayed a message that said "DVD NO SYNC".
The DVD will not play, or eject. The light that is normally blue to indicate 'on' is now purple.
The instruction manual was no help and I couldn't find anything online. Can anyone help me?
