Is that okay?
E has a backup of C in it, but my C drive is completely empty.
I thought maybeI had to copy the backup into the C drive, but there ins't enough free space to fit it all in there.
My friend softmodded it but over the years things have started to get really glitchy with it and it no longer copies games nor has xbox media center on it. So I redid it with Xbox HDM the hotswap and everything worked great, the softmodd seems to have worked theres just nothing in C nor can I get my Regular MS dashboard to boot. It says
unable to launch "C:\xboxdash.xbe".
File does not exists.
if you are willing to pay $5, i do believe there is a retail c drive download in the VIP downloads section of xbox-hq.com. This requires an account. Register, and then click any of the subsections of the VIP section tab on the website. It will ask you to register for VIP to access it. A trial of VIP on that website is $5 for 14 days which is certainly enough to download one file.
if you restore the retail c drive to your xbox's c drive i think it should work.
I'm confused, why is it empty now? shouldn't the ndure software installed a C drive, why is everything in E, I guess I just want to know where I went wrong! BTW I hotswapped this Xbox I had my friend softmod one of my other xbox a while back, he just did an Xbox To Xbox FTP and that one worked great, C drive and MS dash everything.
Your c drive is "shadowed" which means you cant alter it, it doesn't show up in ftp either am i right?
If so get your self a copy of "frosty s rescue disc" burn it and pop it in your xbox let it load and select rescue and file maneger change options/ip etc for ftp. This will stop shadow c so you can see real c. and alter it.
Be careful you will wreck your softmod. but once you can see the real c, in your ftp you could restore your ms dash from your backup. or extract it from the slayers disc if you have one.
Then still in file manager after you have restored you c drive copy across you original softmod saves, delete the ones in your udata folder. put the orignal ones back and then just browse to them and hit install.xbe (back up ms dash) install softmod etc.
Done!
I wouldn't have bothered with this site again if i had`nt stuffed my xbox and had to start all over again...bah!
