red ring

    hi, ok i got an xbox from a friend and there is a blinking red light around the eject button and the dashboard doesnt load it just says service required in many different languages it was never modded i want to know if there is any way i can get it to work again

    there should be an error code(a number) in the corner of the screen i believe. It may be elsewhere, idk. Post the error code and we can help you.

    Error 6 means that it cannot unlock the xbox's HD. Perhaps the HD is from another xbox or isn't set up correctly? Ask your friend if they swapped the hd? Because swapping the HD without setting it up correctly means that it cannot unlock the hard drive.

    i messed up i had the wrong hard drive in there i switched it out and it works now thanx for the help though
