Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

DVD file is locked

#1 08 Feb 2010 @ 19:02
Hi. I'm new here but not new to copying DVD's. But recently I've encountered a problem that I can't figure out.
O.K. the computer I was using the HD went out so I was using my mom-in-law's computer to copy. I downloaded DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter (what I've always used) but the copies I made will not play on any of the DVD players that I have always used to play my other copied dvd's. When I go into DVD Decrypter and look up the file to burn, the file has a lock showing on it. How do I get rid of that? Does it have something to do with the "locked for exclusive use" button that is on DVD Decrypter? Or is it something that needs to be changed on DVD Shrink?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

The computer has windows 7. and the error message says:

DeviceIoControl (FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) Failed!
Device: [0:1:0] Optiarc DVD+RW AD-7560S SD05 (D:)(ATAPI)
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access
Reason: The device is not ready.

Any thoughts?
