How do the files play before you convert them with ConvertX? If they play fine, how do they play after being converted? Also, why are you running the files thru DVD Shrink after using ConvertX?

You can't expect shrink, last updated about 10 yrs ago, to decrypt all the latest encryptions. Download Defab from the 'software download' section of AD. That gets updated at least once a month. Run that first then open the files in shrink and proceed. I recommend running FixVTS before running shrink. That will take any skips out of your movie. I also suggest removing any menus, adds, etc. Do that by using re-author and only pick the title movie. You do not want to compress the movies anymore than you have to especially with today's big screens. You may have that option in Defab. I have used the paid for version too long to know what the free version does.
I must point out your title sucks. You are supposed to have a title that summarizes your post.

Sorry I missed the other part. Movies that jump around are not properly decoded. That means they play out of sequence.
Players often do not read as well as computer burners. They have weak poorly focused lasers. List price is no gauge of quality. What you might see is skipping if the video is in sequence but plays jerky. To improve readability you should buy good media. Check the media forum for that. I only use Verbatim. You should play with the media burn speed. If your burn app doesn't give you many choices, use Imgburn. You may be too slow or too fast. Both will screw up the readability. With Verbatim you can burn slower than some of the other brands. I burn at 3X. Bad readers prefer slow burns because the pits are bigger and easier to see. Some media will blur together at 3x. Lastly, you can repair your video by running through FixVTS after the rip but before the shrink and burn. Buying a better burner or player will also help. That is about all there is to know about readability.
