I've been experiencing something rather curious with Dvd shrink in windows 7. Im curious if others have experienced this as well.
When I click to go fullscreen in the video window, that works. But when I go back to window mode, the preview has gone black. The audio is fine, but the video is gone. And another thing, the video is REALLY grainy. Anybody else experience this in windows 7? Windows vista comments welcome :)

I'll have a play with that later tonight O-man. I have yet to actually use Shrink on my lappy since putting Windows 7 on it.

However, i've never had that issue on either Vista machines.

Uninstall/reinstall unsuccessfull. I had a feeling it wouldn't work. When you think about it, dvd shrink is a relatively basic program. For rendering dvds(playing dvds), it seems to rely on the OS/or something else installed. For it runs without hitch on XP. Good video quality on XP, bad quality on Windows 7. I wonder if windows aero has something to do with it.....

Ok, windows aero, err opacity settings have nothing to do with it.

By the way, I don't generally use dvd shrink to play my movies. LOL! Just noticing a bug, thats all. A bug that didn't exist in xp. I use Shrink ONLY to see what the dvd structure looks like. Size of the menu's, size of the extras, lengths, etc. Since my CPU can analyze MOST dvds in under 6 seconds(From HDD), I find it quite useful for this.

I know there are older versions of Shrink and up to 3.2, if you don't mind me asking; what version are you using and what are your system specs?

On Shrink, go to edit>preference>preview, is the video renderer "System Default Renderer"?

Man...your awesome LOL! You know...I never knew about those functions. Never needed to I suppose. In 5+ years...LOL!!!

Ok, heres the scoop. System Default Renderer was the culprit. It WAS checked for System Default. Both VMR-9, and VMR-7 had the same effect. Where as the bottom 2, Overlay Mixer, and Built-in Software Renderer are working exactly as it needs to :D Strongly recommend to anyone reading this, and having the same problem, to use OVERLAY MIXER. It renders substantially better video quality. At least on my machine. Thank you PCH-Dude. Your my hero LOL!

Something about overlay mixer though. It deactivates windows aero. You've been warned LOL!
