Whenever I rip a clip and try to play it in sony vegas the dialogue never plays. The soundtrack of the clip will play however, and the various sound effects, but there is no dialogue when ppl are talking. I have Vista if that matters. I tried downloading a mpeg streamclip but nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi
What prog(s) are you using to rip with, and what format? Sounds like you are not selecting an audio stream when you do the rip but will need more info to be sure.

Not sure what you are trying to do here. Have you got sound on your other progs? If you have an MPeg file then the sound is embedded so I can only think it's a sound card or audio problem.

Are you trying to rip a DVD or play something? What format / progs are you using??

You have a half-Coaster (A COASTER is: a optical disc like a CD or DVD that doesn't work. Normally 'cos a bad quality of the blank-disc itself or failure diring the CD or DVD burning process ).
I would say that you are using old programs to rip a new DVD's. and you need to upgrade !!!

ok but upgrade what exactly though? My laptop is fairly new, and all my DVDs are new and store bought. I have the newest version of Dvd Shrink. I ripped the same things on my cousins computer and got the same result when I went in vegas on her pc, there was no dialogue, just background audio. So what are you saying i should do?

DVD Shrink Program is a old an rudimentary ripper that can't handle newer encryptions. The last update on Shrink was made before August 18th of 2005 when the web-site shut-down and became Nero-Recode: afterdawn.com/news/archive/6739.cfm
On another hand, you also need a Burner program like: Nero, ImgBurn etc.
But since those 2 programs can do 98% of the DVD's out-there, I would say that you problem is on the another 2% where you need help from a 3rd, program like DVDFab or AnyDVD.

P.S. Chose the Video_TS folder only when you are ready to run it with Shrink.

thanx i did have dvdfab a while ago but the trial ran up and it ripped very slow. why does it rip slower than dvd shrink? i'll try anydvd, is that free?

so youre saying i need nero and anydvd? and both running at the same time? and then AFTER all that run it in Shrink..?

DVDFab is usually alot faster that Shrink since is newer.....unless you have alot of crap on your computer and you need it to clean it up, using: "CCleaner program".

P.S. Since the last version of Shrink was made in 2004. Shrink only work with Nero 6.3.1.25 or older version.

AnyDVD also come on a trial form, same that CloneDVD2 or others.

Since you new.....I recomend you to read the Guides section of this wed-site and other treats to help you understand how the whole thing work when is time to use new programs or link them togeter.
