Hey all, I've just downloaded this program and am having so much trouble. It seems as though every DVD I open they always have these black bars on each side of the film? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have no clue how to get rid of these or if it's even possible.

Edit > Preferences > Preview, change the video renderer to something else.

It's mentioned in this link referring to preview preferences.

It has no effect on the actual aspect ratio of the movie.

Thanks so much! It's showing most of my dvds in full/wide-screen now except for the one I'm really wanting to make a copy of (Clerks). Not really sure what is up with it, but the rest show up fine after I changed the video renderer. I tried making a copy of Clerks with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, but it showed those pesky bars to the left and right of the screen when played on my dvd player. :-( Oh well, thanks again for the help!

Check the aspect ratio with the likes of MediaInfo.
