Ok so here's my problem. I bought a new laptop with Windows Vista. I installed DVDShrink on my new laptop and everything was working fine. Then out of the blue, one day it decided to stop working. I now get the following error message every time i try to open it.:
"DVDShrink has encountered and problem and needs to close"
The program dosn't even start up, i just get this error every time i try open it.
I've tried various methods to troubleshoot this problem but to no avail. I tried installing different versions of DVD Shrink (older versions), i tried a step by step tweeking method, i tried deleting all the tracking cookies my anti-virus program picked up. And still nothing.

how long was it installed before it stoped working? if it was fine before try un installing and reinstalling, if that doesn't work try a system restore to a time when it was working properly. that is the only fix i found in the past when mine acted up on my old xp computer. now i have vista and so far nock,nock. no problem

Hmm. Well i installed Red Alert 3 (the game) and i got Nero working on my vista laptop (i tried uninstalling Nero as i thought that could be the problem, but it changed nothing, Shrink still wouldn't work)
I also installed some small programs:
- Vuze (Azerus)
- Corel Video Studio 12
- EA Download Manager
- Shark 007 Codecs - CCcleaner
After installing a program WIN994A a Ti emulator, I started gettting that same message occansionlly with virtually all programs after the computer is on about 20min or so. I think there may be a virus that is doing this, or programs that are not microsoft registared as SAFE may do this I think. I have not found a fix. Shrink works good for awhile but if it isn't done before about 20 to 30 min it interups it. Also does the same when burning anything. The movie industry may even have movies with programs that disable the burner or plant a shrink disabler. Also, shrink has trouble with the new miltipule soundtracks.
