Hello,
I recently bought a new computer and I've been having issues with DVD Shrink.
A message pops up and says:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Out of memory
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
This issue is not consistent. Sometimes it happens. But if I try to back up the movie again, without making any changes, it works just fine.
I've been backing up movies for years with a much older PC, and I've never had this problem. Does anyone out there know what the problem is?
Thanks a lot!

dvd shrink cannot handle newer movies you need to use dvdfab to backup your dvds

The problem with DVD fab is that it doesn't let me reauthor a DVd the way DVD Shrink is able to.
When I use the "customize" option on DVDFab, it only allows files from one folder, unlike Shrink, which allows you to combine files from many different folders.
By the way, the movie I am trying to back up is not new.
Does anyone know if there's a way to use DVD Fab that comes come to the "reauthoring" option available in DVD Shrink?
Thanks again!

The last time shrink was updated was about 10 years ago. 'New' for shrink is any move made after then. Just because a movie was made this year doesn't mean they use an modern encryption routine. The smarter ones know all the new encryption will be beat anyway so they use a minimal protection and save money. That is why shrink can work on some new movies. Rip them with defab with no options than process the files in shrink any way you like. Is that so hard?

I'm not sure if this will work with all newer/faster PC's. You might try playing around with the Windows compatibility settings, I have mine set at XP SP3 and run as admin.
