Shrink stops running when I select Backup

I have a hp Pavillian with windows vista. When i click on backup in dvd shrink. It thinks for ten seconds than says it has to shut down. I can go and analysis the dvd that works fine all work except the back up. On my old computer I had the xp version and it always worked. Any suggestions?

I don't have Vista - can DVD Shrink be made run in XP mode.

That file does not seem to be part of DVD Shrink - but a Google search associates it with Nero.

Perhaps your Nero version doesn't like Vista.

shrink doesn't work with nero after 6 tho does it.. use imgburn
anyway.. without knowing a LOT more we are only guessing.. shrink will not copy disks made in about the last 4 years on it's own.

mmc from my knowledebase is a driver associated with burning .. I don't use it as generic-mmc-raw is faster and seems to give better burns. Different tools for different jobs.. more background.. always like to give information where I can. http://club.cdfreaks.com/f34/generic-mmc-raw-110015/

On my old computer that doesn't work which was xp had the nero 6 version like varnall stated. Is there another product that shrinks the movie down to 4.35Gb. I used to have dvd fab but that only got it down to 7.85gb then i would use dvd shrink. Thanks Dan

I finally got all the nero stuff off. It was is 5 different folders! now my dvd shrink is working fine and I am buring through Imgburn. Thanks for the help!

Nicely.. version conflicts.. I wonder how many times we never get right to the bottom of a problem because of those.

Hoping my link before was at least educational.. usually dll's have a generic kind of driver name.. knowing bits like that can help sometimes when it comes to those odd bugs.

My dream is a world where when you post on forums for help it's to report to the software team a potential bug.. or a non documented feature giving problems.. not seeking help because they are too lazy to write proper code in the first place XD
