    Hello,
does the procedure described in the following thread about adding SRT subtitles to a DVD cause any quality loss? Will the video be reencoded?

Maybe in the meantime there's a better method or program available to add SRT subtitles without quality loss?

Typically, the movie would be demuxed into a video and audio stream.
The subtitles would be converted to images, then the video, audio and subs would be remuxed back to a movie without any recoding or consequent loss of quality.
I don't know if the program mentioned actually does that, but you can do it yourself with free tools.
PgcDemux (or similar) to demux the movie to audio and video streams.
SubtitleCreator (or similar) to convert the .srt file to .sup format.
MuxMan (or similar) to recreate the movie.
Note that the menu (if any) would not be re-created.
