I have got a camera which i used to make a home movie. The movie was stored in the sd memory card. After transferring the movie to my pc, the movie was viewed on my pc with QUICKTIME PLAYER. I then converted the movie to an AVI FILE using ULTRA QUICKTIME. I then burned it onto a dvd using IMAGEBURN. The dvd plays fine on my pc but doesnt play in my dvd player. When i make back ups of movies using DVD SHRINK and IMAGEBURN, they work fine on my dvd player. So what do you think i did wrong? Please could you help as i am new to this and am really frustrated as it was a holiday movie that i want people to see. Thanks in advance.

In the first instance you are creating a data disk with an AVI file as the contents - does your standalone DVD player also play AVI files - i.e is it DivX certifed??

If the standalone is not a DivX player, then the files from the camera will have to be converted to DVD movie format.

I dont think my dvd player is divx certified. How do i convert AVI FILE to DVD VIDEO FILE? Which program do i use? Also when i used ULTRA QUICKTIME to convert the file to AVI, i made sure that it was set to DVD VIDEO FILE so how come it didnt work?

You can convert your AVI (and other formats) to DVD format using DVD Flick.
It will optionally burn the DVD using the included burner program.
On the main screen, top menu, click 'Guide' for a simple tutorial.

I'm not familiar with the program.
Is it possible that your camera outputs .mov format files?
If so, you can possibly load them into DVD Flick, opt to burn the disk and let it do all the conversion without converting to AVI first.
