    Hi Everyone,

This is my first post on this forum, so I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem.

A friend recently came to me with a DVD of a 3 hour meeting that was done at his work place. He said it has video and sound on his PC but only video if played on his home DVD player. I placed the DVD in my DVD player and also got no sound.

I looked at the DVD and it was a +R DVD and my DVD Player was not compatible with DVD+R only DVD-R. So I copied the DVD onto the DVD-R disk using Nero. Still no sound on my DVD Player.

OK, so that next step was to copy the VOB files from the DVD+R and make the other necessary IFO BUF files from the VOB files. Then copy them onto a DVD-R disk. Still no sound.

What I did next was to turn up my 500W Amp to max. when playing either the original or DVD-R copy and you could hear some faint sound. Strange!

I have also noticed that when at the root DVD menu of the original or DVD-R disk it has DVD+VR. That does not look correct, especially on a DVD-R disk. Comments please.

So, if anyone can offer any suggestions as to why I have no sound on a DVD player it would be very much appreciated.

    TIA

    Greg

How was the so called dvd made?Camcorder, looks like both dvd players don't like the audio format that was used when the disk was created.Use dvd fick and under the options select audio 5.1,I'm sure dvd flick can convert vobs, just copy the disk to your hardrive and then open up flick, guide below om how to use flick.
