DVD default VOLUME up - possible?

I have recently come across a DVD that has sound of a significantly lower volume than most of my others. It seems that most of mine are at about the same level, meaning I don't have to change the volume much / at all, between discs.

The disc in question, when I play it, requires a reasonable boost in volume - on the tv - to be heard / enjoyed.

Is there anything that can be done, during the process of re-authoring, to boost the volume?

If so, can the process / trick be applied to the feature and the menu or just one or the other?

Yes, some of the programs can normalize the volume during
encoding. AVStoDVD for example.

 

DVD FLick can increase the volume when authoring. Since the video is mpeg-2 already, you can choose the option not to re-encode it.

Otherwise, you would have to demux the audio, use something like Audacity to boost the volume, then re-author the DVD.

For the other thread, just click on the "Edit Title" on the right hand side(or double click the preview icon on the left upper corner), and you'll see the options.
