Ok, so I have some 2-d animation video done in Quicktime that I've been converting over to mpeg2 to be put on a DVD. The problem is, no matter what software I'm using to encode, the picture quality has numerous little artifacts and encoding distortions that are readily apparent when viewed on a high resolution screen at a larger than DVD resolution. I know no mpeg2 transfer is gonna be perfect, but every commercial DVD I've viewed to compare has significantly less issues. So I was wondering if anyone could point in the right direction of what encoder I should use. I'm really looking for something that would be professional quality, even if it's not exactly cheap. I've tried Main Concept, Sorenson Squeeze, and a handfull of free encoders, and had a friend with a high end Mac do a transfer as well, but I forget what he used.
I'm asuming the extension is .mov or qt. Try using River Past video cleaner to do the conversion. Make sure you have the latest quicktime installed on your PC. Adobe premiere might be another option.
