CSS is added to stamped(not burned) DVDs.
It's a licenced product that has to be purchased - it can also be defeated by any copy program.

The only way I know to prevent a casual user from copying a disk, is to add length of blank video to the main title then scratching the disk in that area so that a CRC error is generated if the disk is ripped - note the disk plays ok in a DVD player until the defective area is reached.
This may discourage a novice but anyone who regularly rips disks would work around it.

chances are if you can make a dvd which can't be copied using normal methods, someone will find a way to copy it and post it on the internet.no matter how hard you try to make something copy proof someone will find a way to copy it.

pointless.. first thing people will come across is dvd-fab .. if the media companies can't manage to make copy proof disks after spending billions of dollars on it theres no way you will either. The first suggestion is the best.. make a deliberately faulty disk, you can't author duff menu entries on non commercial software and I'm not telling how to reinsert a ripped psl into an iso creation program to write deliberately duff sectors.. and I doubt a burner will cope with burning corrupt sectors anyway.....

usually the only people who want to make copy protected disks and have to ask on forums are people trying to make money from selling converted pirate/ripped films.. film makers and wedding video production businesses know how to do this already, they BUY stuff or they don't bother... most don't bother because they know it's pointless.
