    Hi

No sure if this is the correct place to post my question, but then im not sure there is a "correct" place as I have a fairly unique requirement.

Im I.T. Manager at a holiday resort that is opening a flowrider this easter. Flowrider in Cornwall

What we want to be able to do is rapidly (and automatically) take a 1 hour video file (how i capture this and what format it will be in is undecided yet) then automaitally author it into a dvd probably with a simple splash screen menu with a single play button and produce either a video_ts folder or iso image ready to burn using a bank of dvd burners.

This is so that we can then offer rider videos as soon after the ride has completed to the riders.

Any ideas of software either windows or linux based that we could script to take these one hour video captures and spit out the ready to burn dvd files/images.

You can use free software like DVDStyler or pay for, like ConvertxToDVD to author the DVD. As to burning to multiple drives at the same time, I know Nero has that capability.

Does DVD Styler or ConvertXtoDVD have command line interfaces or API's that will let me automate the process.

I would very much like to automate the authoring of dvds and then they could simply be burnt on request as they are purchased by the customers.

I don't know about the two, DVDAuthor has a command line interface.

For this project you need to capture in dvd compliant mpeg2 format.. otherwise you will be waiting an age for transcoding.. the rest is simple with dvdauthor.. just set up your menu backgrounds and buttons the once and load the saved settings each time. Only thing you will need to do is make sure the video file name and path is the same every time otherwise you will have to edit the .xml file you are using as the template.
