    Greetings,

I have approximately 200 vhs tapes that I have been meaning to move to digital format for years. Now that I have the time to do it, although I am rather late to the party I am looking for any current suggestions on a video scaler or stabilizer or other unit that will do the job. Most of the vhs tapes have the old Macrovision copy protection, so I am not certain whether a simple, affordable solution still exists out there. Thank you very much for any assistance you can provide!

I don't have an answer, I have another related question.

Subject: VHS to digital (or DVD) conversion.

I'll like to use my home PC so what will I need in the way of an 'interfacing' card (PCI or PCIe, or even 'video to USB') so I can plug in a video connection which is available off my VCR (VHS) player. Then with the 'captured' tape I can do whatever file manipulation I'd like to give me a DVD formatted output. Someone told me that a card with a video cable connection is a popular product.

    Any suggestions???
