I'm in the same dilema as you are. I was going to get one, but with all of these overheating issues, and overpriced smartphone plans, plus that the phone is too thick IMO, I would wait till the next iPhone comes out, which may be this Septemper or in 2010, which is what I'm doing. From a user point of view, my buddy has one and he loves it, he can't carry it in his pocket though because he says it's too thick, plus the plans for the iPhone are way too high (Fido&Rogers), plus the reception gets very weak when he's outside.
