Sony Ericsson Xperia E10i_ NCK code

#1 14 Sep 2011 @ 14:16
Hi everyone.
I tried swapping a Orange sim for a 02 sim and it wont work.
I contacted Orange who said I need a 'Network contol key' (NCK code).
And then told me it would be £22.

THAT'S RIP-OFF considering I payed £130 for the phone 9 months ago and have topped up credit well over £100. :@

Is there a way of getting this without paying?

Thanks everyone :)

welcome to ripoff world.. they lock the hardware to their network then they charge you to "release" it.. there is a way to get round this but it's probably going to be as expensive as paying them.. Take it to a back street repair shop and you can get the software reflashed to a straight factory binary unlocked all networks.. that usually costs between £20-£30

Don't ask "how can I do this at home" because the simple answer is.. you can't.. you will need a specialist jig and connectors and guaranteed they work out far far more than £22.. more like £100

ARR! Them pesky Navy! Get out of my sea!

Thanks ps.

Off to the shop then. I'd rather pay the local lad than the big firms.

Thanks again man
