Samsung S3 not connecting to Kies

Hi There
I was wondering if someone could help?
i have just got the Samsung galaxy S3 and the kies download doesn't find my phone on my mac OS X 10.5.8 so i can't uploads any of my music and doing via bluetooth will take ages. If anyone could help i'd be so grateful.
