Hey i've recently bought a samsung vice and im trying to add my own ringtone using mp3s. I have been using my micro sd to try and transfer the information from the computer to the phone but it doesn't detect it. Any ideas? I would rather not use video ringtones so don't give me a link to ventune

Ah yes, typical question for those who don't understand how phone-providers screw your crap up.

Originally, when a phone's created it has the possiblity for endless customzation, for example: mp3 Ringtones wav ringtones etc.
however when a company such as Bell Mobility (Canadian Phone Provider) decide to use the phone for they're cause, they sort of speak customize the firmware so you can't do that anymore, you have to DOWNLOAD the ring tones for a very over-priced amount.
It's simply a company's way to make money off of you even after signing a contract.
The only possible way I can recall getting mp3s to work with any phone like ti SCH-R561 (or VICE as it's known here) is to hack the registry via certain programs and I am not getting into on how to do that.

So for most, your crap out of luck, sorry guys.
Call your provider and see what they have to say, they'll prob just link you to a site they own that requires you to PAY for the service.

Sometimes it happens due to the technical fault in the phone or the connecting cable. Some phones can't play Mp3 ringtones, they caon only wav or any other formate.1stly check which formate your cell can play.
