First-How about not hijacking threads....
Second-Use google for god sakes!
Just upgrade your psp already..if you update to 5.00M33-6 you will have all of the functionality you are looking for. (Skype, PSN network, etc, etc...) Even better, if you have a fat psp you can install the 1.50 kernel add-on so you will be able to use the homebrew you mentioned that requires 2.71 or lower.

skype is NOT available for the 1000 fat series. it's only available on the slims, since they have double the onboard ram.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8b - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 5.00 m33-6
wii (powered by bootmii): 4.1u - cIOS38_rev15 - configurable usb loader v48b
got a whole lot more to list . . .

You just need to have the 5.00.PBP file in the same UPDATE folder as the program eboot on your memory stick.
As far as the file turning into a 'uTorrent' file on your computer-That is merely file association, you must have that set on your computer so it thinks uTorrent is the default program for those file types..No big deal...(Although when you download the file itself, it will have a .rar extension and you should use the winRAR program for that...)
Just download the $ony update from **HERE**-extract the file from the .rar archive and copy it to the UPDATE folder on your psp's memory stick ensuring that the filename is 5.00.PBP, then the updater program will work...It was just looking for that file on the memory stick so it could update....
Alternatively, if you already have your wi-fi set up on your psp, just go ahead and allow it to download the 5.00.pbp file when it asks for it..
@cee43ja1-good to see you again, it has been a while..
For clarifications sake-cee43ja1 is correct, skype is not available on the fat psp and I apologize if anyone was misinformed by my previous posting..I was assuming a slim psp, and did not differentiate between slim/fat at that time...Probably due to answering multiple similar threads at once...

The end of that sentence was unnecessary and added nothing of value to the post

You could have just went into the options menu for uTorrent and unchecked the file type like I mentioned earlier(.rar)
But to answer your question about 'upgrading to a non hacked update-will you still be able to play downloaded games' the answer is NO...
If you install official firmware, YES the newly-released games you wish to play will work fine, provided they are the UMD discs you purchase at the store.
But then you will lose all capability of playing your ill-gotten games from the memory stick, and say goodbye to homebrew as well...
And just in case you dont have the 5.00M33-6, or the 5.50GEN-B2 updates already, they can both be found *HERE*...If you go the GEN-B2 route, then you can go ahead and use the game decrypter (for new release games) from the thread found *HERE*

All i seem to do lately is ask people to type properly. What is wrong with the education system. Type properly or not at all.

Maybe he wasn't referring to you in particular? Or maybe he was.....? Although, from the looks of your last post-I am guessing the latter...Big deal.
In any event, I have provided a few links in my previous posts that will get you situated. Perhaps you overlooked them? On psp-hacks.com you will find the 'XGEN Updater V2'program, it can be found **HERE** This will update psp's running 3.71M33 and greater to the 5.50GEN-B2 without having to perform incremental updates. I see that there is now a new version in the 'GEN' series of firmwares(GEN-D)-Looks like that would solve your problem completely, as there would no longer be a need for patching the newer games. Might want to give that a whirl.

ok well after dl the time machine app i read the txt and i am guessing this is just for installing firmware not the add on kernel and as i have read this new gen firmware does not support the homebrew so i guess i will have to bear down and bite the bullet well gonna test run the psp now with gran turismo

Yeah, as far as I know there is not a 1.50 kernel for the 'GEN' versions of custom firmware at this time-you would have to use D_A's time machine if you have some homebrew that requires the 1.50 kernel.
At least now with the GEN-D version, you don't have to patch newer games anymore-so that's a plus.

It does work-However, from what I am reading TM is not compatible with GEN-D for some reason....You are correct in assuming it installs firmware-It is a program that is installed to a(magic)memory stick, and is used in conjunction with a pandora battery to 'rollback' your firmware to an earlier cfw that is more homebrew-friendly.
Anyways- I am glad to hear you finally got it working, and sorry if you felt insulted-I would just clean up your posts a bit in the future so they are a little easier to decipher.
